Accounts Payable Specialist

Bend, OR

PrideStaff, a firm specializing in recruiting for Central Oregon businesses, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist. This is full time, M-F position with benefits. 

Accounts Payable Specialist Job Responsibilities may include:

  •   Calculate, post business transactions, process invoices, verify financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records, and provide other clerical support necessary to pay the obligations of the organization
  • Clarify any questionable invoice items, prices, or receiving signatures
  • Obtain proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments
  • Assemble invoices to be completed for payment
  • Verify and calculate all extensions and totals on invoices (calculating and taking discounts when applicable)
  • Review invoices and requisitions for satisfactory payment approval
  • Check vendor files for any previous payments and assign voucher numbers
  • Maintain copies of vouchers, invoices or correspondence necessary for files
  • Prepare vouchers listing invoice number, date, vendor address, item description, amounts, and coding per accounting policies and procedures

Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge and Skills.  Requires generally accepted management practices and strong organizational skills. Requires sufficient accounting understanding to convey concepts to others, to deal with sensitive and confidential information, high attention to detail and timelines and to facilitate discussions with members of the administrative team. Strong problem solving skills, ability to work within deadlines, strong communication skills, ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet competing deadlines. Skilled user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Experience and Training.  High School Diploma or equivalent and three (3) years experience accounts payable, assisting office with projects, and general office administration. Familiarity with accounting programs and software. Bachelor degree preferred, but not required.

Physical Demands

  • This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing and lifting is required. This would require the ability to lift files up to and including 25lbs (occasionally), file documents in cabinets, box files and bend, squat or stand as necessary.????
