How You Will Make a Difference

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will play a vital role in a collaborative team dedicated to delivering exceptional care to patients with renal failure. You will work under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN), ensuring that patients receive the best possible treatment.

Your Responsibilities

• Direct Patient Care: Engage with patients to provide safe, comfortable, and quality dialysis treatment. Your tasks will include gathering patient statistics before and after treatment, initiating and monitoring treatments, terminating procedures, and collecting blood samples as per physician orders.
• Technical Operations: Prioritize quality by preparing hemodialysis machines for treatment, disinfecting and cleaning them after use, and performing machine safety checks while documenting results to ensure compliance with protocols.
• Adhering to Safety and Quality Standards: Employ appropriate safety measures, including using personal protective equipment. Under the guidance of a Charge Nurse, you will follow all company policies, state, and federal regulations. Your participation in staff meetings and ongoing education will be essential.

What We Are Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A passion for healthcare and patient care.
• Prior healthcare experience in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a CNA is advantageous.
• Comfortable with mixing acids and bicarbonate per protocol.
• Ability to differentiate all primary colors.

Additional Requirements

• Successful completion of the USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, demonstrating competency, including the hemodialysis training course within 8 weeks of hire.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire or as mandated by state regulations.
• Patient Care Technician certification to be obtained through a recognized state or national program within 18 months of hire and maintained in good standing.
