Job Description: Corrections – LVN – Days & Nights

Overview

GQR Healthcare is seeking skilled Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) for corrections assignments throughout Texas. These contracts offer steady hours, overtime opportunities, and long-term extensions across multiple facilities in Texas.

Key Details

• Position: LVN – Corrections
• Shifts: Days & Nights available (varies by facility)
  • Days: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
  • Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• Length: 16 weeks (continuous extensions available)
• Hours per Week: 36/48 (block booking by the 20th of each month)
• Work Week: Saturday – Friday (OT calculated weekly)
• Holiday Coverage: Must be able to work through the holidays (no RTO allowed during holidays)

Opportunities available across multiple TDCJ facilities:

• Palestine, TX
• Gatesville, TX
• Beaumont, TX
• Huntsville, TX
• Beeville, TX
• Navasota, TX

Compensation (Weekly Estimates)

(Taxable + Per Diem):

• 36 hrs: $1,490/week
• 48 hrs: $1,910/week

Requirements

• License: Active Texas or Compact LVN
• Certifications: BLS required
• Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years as an LVN
  • At least 1 year of acute Med-Surg experience required
  • Corrections experience not required
• Skills:
  • Thick-skinned, independent, adaptable
  • Able to succeed in a fast-paced corrections setting
• Other: COVID vaccine required 

Float Requirements

• May float to nearby units (10–30 minutes away) with compensated drive time (up to 30 minutes).
• May be diverted to facilities within 50 miles of primary assignment.
• Refusal to float/divert will result in a DNR status.
