Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for an overnight shift contract assignment. Under the supervision of the Sterile Processing Supervisor, the technician will support daily department operations by ensuring proper cleaning, preparation, sterilization, and transport of surgical instruments in compliance with hospital policies and established standards.
Contract & Schedule Details - Assignment Length: 13-week contract
- Shift: Overnight
- Schedule: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Holiday Coverage: Required
- Number of Openings: 1
Key Responsibilities - Clean, decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and prepare surgical instruments for sterilization
- Transport soiled and sterile instruments to and from operating room areas
- Follow hospital policies, procedures, and sterile processing best practices
- Maintain competency in sterile processing workflows and equipment use
- Communicate effectively with coworkers, charge technicians, supervisors, and leadership
- Perform additional duties as assigned by department leadership
Experience & Qualifications - Minimum of 3 years of Sterile Processing experience
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing standards and procedures
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts
Certifications - BLS (Basic Life Support) required within three months of hire
- CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing Department Technician) encouraged within 18 months of hire
Licensure - State license not required
Additional Information - Orientation may be provided prior to assignment
- Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract
- Holiday coverage required per department needs
